The eligibility requirements for the PMP exam are as follows:

• A four-year degree (bachelor's or equivalent): 3 years (36 months) of project management experience, with 4,500 hours leading and directing projects, and 35 hours of project management education.
• A secondary degree (high school diploma, associate's degree, or equivalent): 5 years (60 months) of project management experience, with 7,500 hours leading and directing projects, and 35 hours of project management education.

To apply for the PMP exam, you need to create an account on the Project Management Institute (PMI) website, complete the online application form, and submit it along with the required documentation and payment. The application will be reviewed by PMI, and upon approval, you can schedule your exam.

The PMP exam is a computer-based exam consisting of 180 multiple-choice questions. Out of the 180 questions, 175 are scored questions, and 5 are unscored pretest questions. The exam duration is 230 minutes (3 hours and 50 minutes).

Effective PMP exam preparation involves studying the PMBOK Guide (Project Management Body of Knowledge) published by PMI. Additionally, you can use study guides, practice exams, participate in training courses or boot camps, join study groups, and gain practical project management experience.

PMP certification is valid for three years from the date you pass the exam. To maintain your certification beyond the initial three years, you need to earn and report a specific number of Professional Development Units (PDUs) through PMI's Continuing Certification Requirements (CCR) program.

To maintain your PMP certification, you need to participate in the PMI Continuing Certification Requirements (CCR) program. This involves earning a specific number of PDUs through professional development activities such as attending training, conferences, webinars, or engaging in project management-related work.

Yes, you can earn PDUs before passing the PMP exam. However, these PDUs cannot be used for your initial PMP certification. They can only be used for maintaining your certification once you pass the exam.

The PMP certification is valid for three years from the date you pass the PMP exam. After three years, your certification will expire if you do not renew it.

It is highly recommended that you become PMI member prior to applying for the PMP exam to take the test. The membership fee is $129 + $10 for the first time. It is an annual fee and your application can be submitted online at www.pmi.org. If you are a PMI member, the exam fee is $405, for non-members, the exam fee is $555. Your PMI membership fee would help you to save and gain several privileges.

Start by confirming if you are complying with the eligibility criteria to qualify for the PMP certification examination. Ensure the information filled is right and relevant. Once submitted, you cannot do any correction. So take time, inspect and edit before you submit. Only when you fully confident about the correctness of the information, submit the application. The email you mention is critical as this will be only point of contact for the PMI® to reach out to you. PMI® will post your reminders about necessary information to be communicated. You will have to schedule the examination which needs to be taken with one-year after approval of your application.

You can make as many as 3 attempts in one calendar year as allowed by PMI®.
